INSYDIUM Fused Plugins and 3D Resources are downloaded via your Customer Account if your license is within its Subscription or Maintenance Period.
Every INSYDIUM Fused license is individually signed and registered to its owner on downloading from your Customer Account after purchase or conversion. This information is encoded into INSYDIUM Fused. Your Customer Account stores your personal download and it should not be shared with anyone else.
If you have INSYDIUM Fused installed already in Cinema 4D and have the Online Updater enabled (with an internet connection), you will always receive the latest version of INSYDIUM Fused available for your license.
Please see:
Ultimately, you will need to try this yourself (Try INSYDIUM Fused) as it depends on your system and drivers. There are too many combinations for us to test and list all.
Yes, there is a free Trial for INSYDIUM Fused plugins.
To register, you will need to create a Customer Account and request a Trial license. This Trial license will then be available via your Customer Account and you can download the plugins. For more information on INSYDIUM Fused Trials, please visit our Try page.
In submitting a registration request, you agree to only use the Trial for trying the features and not to undertake commercial work, you also agree to allow us to contact you via your email address for marketing purposes.
INSYDIUM Fused licenses need an internet connection at least once every two days by default and this can be extended to 14 days for perpetual licenses.
https://license.insydium.net port 443 (https connection)
https://ls.cycles4d.com port 443 (https connection)
If you are still having problems and have an internet connection but INSYDIUM Fused won’t use it, please contact our Customer Services team. Please be aware that we can only offer suggestions and limited help finding the cause as every network and security setup is different.
Render farm applications use the Cinema 4D command line rendering, so yes INSYDIUM Fused plugins fully support this with unlimited render nodes.
INSYDIUM Fused licenses allow 14 days offline (2 days for subscriptions), so it should not be a problem if your internet goes down or in the unlikely event of our server going down. To add to this we run two backup license servers. If your license is unable to connect to our primary license server, it will try both of our backup servers.
INSYDIUM Fused licenses allow unlimited render nodes, so you do not need to buy additional licenses. Install the software to each client and ensure they have an internet connection for licensing. Your software download carries your license information encoded into it, so our license server will enable your software to run under CLR/TR/NET without the need to enter a license for them.
We no longer support X-Particles 3.5 users (as of December 31st, 2019).
You can continue to use X-Particles 3.5, but to receive maintenance and gain access to INSYDIUM Fused, you will need to buy a new Fused perpetual license or take out a Fused Subscription.
If you buy a new Maintenance Agreement during your Maintenance Period; before it expires, you will be able to continuously access the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection and 12 months will be added to your existing expiry date.
If you buy a new Maintenance Agreement after your existing Maintenance expires, you will miss out on access to the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection until you ‘reactivate’ and your new expiry date will be calculated by adding 12 or 24 months (depending on which Period you are in when you purchase) onto your existing expiry date, not from the date you purchased the new Maintenance Agreement.
We no longer release numbered perpetual versions of INSYDIUM plugins or offer upgrade products.
If your license begins with IFL, you can buy an INSYDIUM Fused Maintenance Agreement which provides Updates automatically and gives access to the full Fused Collection.
If your license begins with XPL and is within the Maintenance Period, you will need to convert this to an INSYDIUM Fused license and you can then purchase a new Maintenance Agreement.
If your license begins with XPL and is within the Reactivation or Last Chance Maintenance Period, purchasing a new INSYDIUM Fused Maintenance Agreement will convert your license to IFL and provide the benefits listed above.
If the Maintenance Agreement for your license expired over 24 months ago, this is no longer eligible for renewal and you would need to purchase a new INSYDIUM Fused Perpetual or Subscription license.
See our Maintenance product page for more information.
A brief guide to installing INSYDIUM Fused Plugins.
There are two possible locations for INSYDIUM Fused installation. The first is the plugins folder in the same place as the Cinema 4D application itself.
The other location is in the user preferences folder. Maxon recommends this location because for security reasons, both Windows and OS X protect the Program Files (or Applications) folders, and you may get an unsuccessful installation if you try to install a plugin there.
To access the Cinema 4D Preferences folder, follow the instructions below:
That’s it. Do all the above and you will have installed INSYDIUM Fused plugins successfully!
You can update your INSYDIUM Fused Plugins automatically through Cinema 4D, or by downloading the latest Build from your Customer Account.
If downloading the new build through your Customer Account, this can be installed as normal by following the installation video
If you update your plugin through Cinema 4D and receive an error message (see below), it means that your plugin has been installed in Program Files (Windows) or Applications (macOS), not the Cinema 4D Preferences. Please refer to the video instructions above to move your plugin to the correct folder and try again.
Unable to write to the INSYDIUM Fused folder.
Please ensure the plugin is located in the correct plugins folder.
Please see the manual for more information.
Thank you.
This error occurs for security reasons because both Windows and macOS place restrictions on what can be done in the Program Files and Applications folders.
If the Update is still not working through Cinema 4D after the plugin has been moved to the correct location, please remove your current installation and download the new build from your Customer Account. This can then be installed by following the above video instructions.
NOTE: Automatically updated builds are only available for licenses within their Subscription or INSYDIUM Fused Maintenance Period.

If the following error message (or similar) appears when trying to open Cinema 4D with INSYDIUM plugins installed for the first time, watch the OSX Installation Guide from 02:58 or follow the instructions below:
Please note on rare occasions, you may need to complete the above steps more than once.
If you are using a MacOS M1 system, close and reopen Cinema 4D multiple times as this will force an application security dialog box regarding the ‘icpinterface’. This will then need to be allowed by following the same process as the previous application security notices and INSYDIUM Fused will then license as expected.
The Build numbers for each of your installed INSYDIUM Fused plugins can be found within Cinema 4D.
To access these, you will need to navigate to the INSYDIUM Menu > About INSYDIUM Fused… option.
If you wait until 24 months after your current Maintenance expires you are Too Late and you can no longer buy a new Maintenance Agreement for your license. The only options are to buy a new INSYDIUM Fused perpetual license or take out an INSYDIUM Fused Subscription.
When you buy a perpetual INSYDIUM Fused license it comes with a 12-month Maintenance Agreement which includes many benefits, accessible when logged into your Customer Account.
After 12 months, your Maintenance Agreement expires and your X-Particles license will still be valid, but you will no longer have access to the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection, including other INSYDIUM plugins. A new Maintenance Agreement needs to be purchased to continue accessing INSYDIUM Fused.

After expiry, we give you up to 12 months to buy a new Maintenance Agreement during the Reactivation Period, but you will miss out on access to Fused until you ‘reactivate’.
After the Reactivation Period, we give you a further 12-month Last Chance Period to buy a new Maintenance Agreement, but it will cost you more to cover the number of Updates that will be released over the two years.
Buying Maintenance during the Maintenance or Reactivation Period will add 12 months to your existing expiry date. If you buy Maintenance during the Last Chance Period, 24 months will be added to your existing expiry date.

Removing your plugin is very straightforward.
INSYDIUM Fused Plugins can be installed on as many systems as required, but can only be open on as many systems at a single time as license seats purchased.
For more information on managing your license and offline periods, see the X-Particles Help Manual.
This is a security check. When you enter your email address into INSYDIUM Fused, it has to match the email address that the license is registered to. If you enter your email incorrectly, you will see an error message asking you to correct it.
An INSYDIUM Fused 6-Monthly Subscription provides access to the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection on a six-monthly basis. Once your initial six-month term has ended, the subscription will automatically continue unless you cancel before your next term starts.
Benefits:
The INSYDIUM 6-Monthly Subscription gives you ultimate flexibility. You can use the licenses for as long as you pay the six-monthly fee and cancel the subscription at any time.
INSYDIUM Fused Subscription licenses include:
Access to INSYDIUM plugins X-Particles, Taiao, TerraformFX, MeshTools, and Cycles 4D

Yes, INSYDIUM Fused is natively compatible with Apple M1 systems in Cinema 4D R23 and newer, except Cycles 4D, which cannot be used on these machines as it does not have silicon support.
Please note that the INSYDIUM Fused Learning Edition is not compatible with M1 systems.
If you have installed INSYDIUM Fused / X-Particles on a Windows system but it is not loading, check the Cinema 4D Console (Shift + F10) to see if there are any relevant entries. If the Console shows an entry for the INSYDIUM Bridge only or no relevant entries at all, this means that your system is missing the necessary Microsoft Visual Studio redistributable files.
To fix this, please visit the following link:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
From there, please download and install the 2015-2019 x64 Visual C++ file (vc_redist.x64.exe) and the 2013 Visual C++ file (Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013).
If installing the above files does not resolve your issue, please contact Technical Support.
nVidia
Cycles 4D is compatible with all PC systems using an nVidia Graphics Card and will render using the GPU.
Apple Macs are CPU only.
AMD
Previous versions of Cycles 4D used OpenCL to render using the GPU on AMD cards (and OpenCL support was also available for nVidia cards).
Due to a lack of support from Apple, Blender have withdrawn OpenCL compatibility on macOS, meaning that GPU rendering is not available using AMD cards on these systems.
If you are using OpenCL on a PC with an AMD card, this should work, however, cannot be guaranteed and we would recommend installing an INSYDIUM Fused Trial license so that tests can be completed.
INSYDIUM Fused provides access to the full INSYDIUM Collection, including Plugins, 3D Resources and Training for as long as you are in your Maintenance Period or have an active Subscription. See below for a full list of included items:
Please note that if you have an INSYDIUM Fused perpetual license out of the Maintenance Period, you will only retain access to X-Particles and any items purchased prior to the introduction of Fused.
Converting your existing X-Particles license to INSYDIUM Fused will give you access to the full Collection at no extra cost.
Please note that only Subscription licenses and perpetual licenses within their Maintenance Period are eligible for conversion.
After your X-Particles license has been converted, you will see a new license within your Customer Account starting ‘IFL’.
This license can then be used to download the INSYDIUM Fused Collection.
When your INSYDIUM Fused Maintenance Agreement expires, you lose access to all items in the INSYDIUM Fused Collection except X-Particles.
If you purchased Cycles 4D prior to the introduction of INSYDIUM Fused, you will still have access to this Cycles 4D license via your Customer Account and be able to download the latest version available on the Maintenance expiry date.
If you do not convert your license to INSYDIUM Fused, you will still be able to access the latest X-Particles build available to you, but you will not gain access to any other items in the INSYDIUM Fused Collection listed here or be eligible for any future X-Particles Updates.
INSYDIUM Fused includes the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection and we do not sell these products separately.
INSYDIUM Fused Plugins are provided as a collection and downloadable in one installation package. You can also choose which of the 3D Resources to download separately via your Customer Account.
Please note that the 3D Resource files require a large amount of free disk space.
We offer 50% discount on INSYDIUM Fused perpetual licenses by adding the Coupon Code ACADEMIC in the shopping cart.
This is for an Academic INSYDIUM Fused license that will work with the full Cinema 4D version.
You will need to prove your academic status and your order will not be processed until we receive valid proof.
View information on accepted academic proofs.
To send your proof, contact our Sales team and attach a relevant document.
The INSYDIUM Fused Academic license should not be used for commercial work.
Converting your X-Particles license to INSYDIUM Fused is simple.
All you have to do is choose the relevant X-Particles license within the My Account tab of your Customer Account and click the Convert This License button.
This automatically converts your X-Particles license (beginning XPL) to an INSYDIUM Fused license (beginning IFL) and you can then gain access to the full INSYDIUM Fused Collection.
Please note that conversion is only available for licenses within their Subscription or Maintenance Period.
All INSYDIUM Fused Collection plugins can be accessed via the INSYDIUM Cinema 4D Menu:

Cinema 4D R25
In Cinema 4D R25, the 3D Resource Packs are installed via the Asset Browser (Shift + F8).
Once the Asset Browser is open, click the Create Menu and navigate to the bottom option, Import Legacy Library.
This will then allow you to import the full .lib4d library and you can access the Resources through the Asset Browser.
Cinema 4D S24 and lower
The 3D Resource Packs are installed in Cinema 4D S24 and lower via the Content Browser.
To install within the Content Browser, you need to add the .lib4d library to the relevant folder within the Cinema 4D Preferences.
The file path for this folder will look similar to the below:
Once installed, you will be able to access the Resources through the Content Browser.
The Bug Reporter can be found within the INSYDIUM Menu in Cinema 4D.
Please ensure that as much information as possible is included in the Bug Report, including steps to recreate the issue and also attach a relevant scene file.
Please note that you will receive an automatic email once the Bug Report has been submitted and we will only contact you further if more information is required.
If you render only the required frame, this will not work as a number of INSYDIUM Fused Objects are dynamic and require the information from previous frames to render correctly.
To render a single frame, you will need to render up to and including the required frame.
There are two reasons this error message may occur:
1. Incorrect License
Check that the license input is correct and that no hidden characters or spaces have accidentally been entered at the beginning or end of the license.
2. Connection Error
Your system may not be able to contact our License Server for verification and this is likely due to restrictive internet security or firewall settings. The URL and Port information for our License Server is below and you will need to whitelist these to allow the connection:
INSYDIUM Fused / X-Particles
https://license.insydium.net
port 443 (https connection)
Cycles 4D and X-Particles builds before 642
https://ls.cycles4d.com
port 443 (https connection)
Please note that as each internet security and firewall system is different, our Support Team is unable to provide specific advice as to how to resolve the above and you will need to contact the provider directly.
If you are using a MacOS M1 system, close and reopen Cinema 4D multiple times as this will force an application security dialog box regarding the ‘icpinterface’. This will then need to be allowed by following the same process as the previous application security notices and INSYDIUM Fused will then license as expected.
Squid HTTPS Proxy
If you are using a Squid HTTPS Proxy, please follow the link below for instructions on how to set this up:
http://docs.x-particles.net/html/network.php
If a username / password is not required, these lines can be omitted from the proxy.ini document.
SOCKS Proxy
SOCKS Proxies are not currently supported by INSYDIUM Fused and as such, the proxy.ini file instructions will not work for this server type.
To use this type of Proxy Server with INSYDIUM Fused, you will need to add it on an OS level as this will ensure that all traffic goes through the server, including the connection to our License Server.
By default, your render nodes need to be connected to the internet, however, we can allow access for offline render nodes if necessary.
For us to do so, you will need to start a render via Team Render with your nodes offline. This will create an xp_license.txt file and you will need to send this through to our Customer Services team.
Once the amended file is sent back to you, you simply need to place this in the same location as the original file.
