To follow these videos, users will need to use scenes created in Series 1.

This series of Maintenance Training videos was recorded using Cinema 4D R20 and X-Particles build 724.

Cinema 4D R21 and above users may find that some of the steps differ in order to achieve the required effects.

 

 

xpFluidFX Granular

Fill an object volume with particles ready for granular simulation.

Set up xpFluidFX to create clumping sand.

Refine the look using the Emitter Extended Data settings.
 

xpExplosiaFX Advection 01

Set up an xpExplosiaFX simulation.

Art direct motion with an xpFlowField.

Use a Color modifier to create a Z-depth particle gradient.
 

xpExplosiaFX Advection 02

Set up a particle spawing rig to maintain geomtery shape during advection.

Data map a xpScale modifier to shrink particles over time.

Run a hardware render to preview animation timing.
 

Cycles 4D Point Density

Build an extended xpExplosiaFX sim based on the previous scene.

Explore the Point Density node in Cycles 4D for volume rendering.

Set up and run a Cache object ready for rendertime.
