Procedural Growth Part 2


In this tutorial, we'll use Cycles 4D to render our procedural growth scene from the X-Particles reel. Techniques we'll work through include:

  • Creating custom materials in Cycles 4D.
  • Using environment and object lighting.
  • Mixing multiple shaders to create complex looks.
  • Building and utilising detailed noise textures to mix materials.
  • Tapping into particle colour data to transition between materials.
  • Setting up the depth of field and motion blur.
